EMBANKMENT EO5 - TYMON LAKE
Embankment construction along the eastern face of the main lake consists of a 230m long, 2.0-2.5m high earthen structure and is designed to enable the lake to contain upto 65'000m3 of water during future intense rainfall events.
The new embankment is to be tied into the existing contour on the northern side of the lake, with the new flow control structure incorporated into the new embankment to allow the waters to be contained.
It is expected that the containment area will be operational in Q1 2025, which will provide instant flood protection benefit to properties downstream.
When all the embankment works are completed and to accomodate park users, a new pedestrian route will be incorporated along the crest of the embanknment.
