FLOW CONTROL STRUCTURE TYMON PARK

The flow control structure consists of a physical intervention in conjunction with raised earth embankments to provide increased flood storage in Tymon Lake.


The flow control is designed to provide protection against fluvial or river flooding in the 1% Annual Exceedance Probability Event.


The structure consists of a series of pre-cast culverts, weir and inlet and outlet headwalls to limit flow out of the lake and includes.


•    Bypass pipe for maintenance
•    Installation of access chambers 
•    Installation of Penstock to shut flow from culverts and valve to operate bypass pipe.
•    Inlet screens to prevent large debris entering culvert, outlet grill to prevent access into culvert downstream.
•    Inlet Headwall and outlet headwall wall safety railings with access to inlet screen for maintenance.
